space systems and services

The UK space sector comprises more than 200 companies employing around 16,000 staff and generating a turnover of £7 billion. The UK's priorities in space are new initiatives in space science, Earth observation, satellite navigation and telecommunications, especially those that have an impact on the information-led economy. UK industrial strengths reside in telecommunications, small satellites, software applications, ion propulsion and batteries.

In close collaboration with UKspace, A|D|S aims to support the space sector in the UK by:

  • Establishing a policy-led, clear UK industry position and become the authoritative voice of the industry (in global fora) on key space issues.
  • Assessing and communicating the overall business impact of the national space programme and provide leadership on priorities for national strategy.
  • Being well-represented and vocal in Europe and the USA, through various strategic alliances, and derive direct benefit for UK firms at all scales of business.
  • Being able to comment on the impact of regulatory and policy changes for the industry.
