National Defence Industries Council
The National Defence Industries Council (NDIC) brings together ministers and senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Trade and Industry and HM Treasury to consult with the defence industries and Trade Union representatives.
Defence Industries Council
The Defence Industries Council (DIC) is a forum for senior executives from defence companies and trade associations to discuss issues of strategic importance to the defence industry and represent them to Government, most notably through the National Defence Industries Council.
Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers Council (RISC)
RISC is an alliance of suppliers, trade associations and academics. It provides a single industry voice and channel of communication for Government on strategic issues affecting national security and resilience. It is hoped that RISC will foster unprecedented Industry-Government partnership and dialogue to counter international and domestic terrorism.
Aerospace Defence & Homeland Security Board
The SBAC Aerospace, Defence and Homeland Security Board was formed in 2004 following a Strategic Review of the structure and operation of the SBAC. It is one of three senior market oriented boards which drive the SBAC agenda and reports direct to the SBAC Council. The Board is the focus for pulling together the industry's views and inputting into the Defence Industries Council and National Defence Industries Council. If you are interested in joining the network, please contact the facilitator for the Aerospace Defence & Homeland Security Board.
Guided Weapons Systems Group Forum and GW Tower Forum
The SBAC Guided Weapons Systems Group (GWSG) is a longstanding special interest group which reported to the SBAC Aerospace Defence and Homeland Security Board. It drew together a diverse number of companies to represent the multiple disciplines of the UK Complex Weapons community.
Joint Industry Government Actions
The National Defence Industries Council has provided an opportunity for Government and industry to set up groups to examine issues of mutual importance, and SBAC membership enables companies to take part in these groups.
Export Group for Aerospace & Defence
Formed in September 2004 through the merging of SBAC's Export Controls Working Group and the DMA's British Defence Manufacturers Export Licensing Group, the Export Group for Aerospace & Defence (EGAD) provides a Defence and Aerospace Industry focus for export control issues.
British Industry Offset Group
The British Industry Offset Group develops industrial views on offset policy and practice (the umbrella term for a wide range of commercial mechanisms for reciprocal trade).
Industrial Participation Forum
The Industrial Participation Forum exists to develop industrial views on IP policy and practice which ensures work is received into the UK when the UK MoD places a contract offshore (i.e. the reverse of offset).
Autonomous Systems Network
Autonomous systems, including UAVs, are important areas of future growth for both civil and defence companies. SBAC's Autonomous Systems Network supports the interests and aspirations of its members and regional partners.
