A|D|S is committed to helping members generate new business, both in the UK supply chain and overseas opportunities. A|D|S works with UK Trade and Investment and UK MoD Defence Export Services Organisation to deliver a programme of successful market access opportunities for UK companies into a number of priority markets, both at home and abroad.

During the first quarter of 2006 members of the Market Development Board worked closely with UKTI and PA Consulting to deliver a strategy for marketing tier 2 and below companies in the civil aerospace sector. For the detailed findings and recommendations please see the attached document.

Lately UKTI's published strategy 'Prosperity in a changing world' , which sets the course for UK Trade & Investment for the coming five years. The strategy stresses that UK Trade & Investment will pull together the Government's efforts in order to help business to internationalise and contribute to the prosperity of the UK.

A|D|S provides a number of core market development services:

• market information - portals for the aerospace and airport sectors which include the latest news, opportunities and key contacts.

• events and exhibitions - A|D|S runs a range of events to help members to access new markets including 'meet the buyer' events, market briefings and inward visits in the UK, trade missions, seminars and UK pavilions at overseas exhibitions.

• overseas facilities - where specific, major opportunities exist, A|D|S establishes offices as required to enable members to have a cost-effective presence. Currently A|D|S has an office in Toulouse, France.

• press headlines service - The A|D|S press headlines service is a daily email service that keeps you up to date on the latest developments in the aerospace industry. This service is free of charge and both members and non-members can register to receive it.
  

The Market Development Board provides strategic guidance to enable the A|D|S to most effectively assist members to access and win new business in the UK and overseas.
